Suspensions, sleeping, and hibernation...

Suspending (S1) and resuming Vista seems to agree with the FireWire Solo.

Does anyone even use S2?

Putting Vista to sleep (S3) and then waking it up does not agree with the FireWire Solo at all; lights blink continually, system shutdowns stall... It ain't pretty.

Allowing Vista to hibernate (S4) and then rousing it is a little more agreeable with the FireWire Solo, but the interface doesn't seem to want to produce any sound after that.

S1 it is for now, I guess...

HI,

I noticed you are using Pro Tools, do you get any latency issues with your FW Solo on Vista ? Cracklings and such, especially when using balanced power scheme ? I'm wondering how will the next release driver will behave, since M-audio has an Vista SP1 driver in beta right now.

Not really, no. I did run into a little bit of crackling with some vocals once, but that could've been my mic setup.

I'm running Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4cs3 and the 5.10.0.5053 M-Audio drivers in Windows Vista SP1 (32-bit) using the "high performance" power plan on a 3.6GHz CPU with 2GB of DDR400 RAM.

Ok, thanks for your answer. My DAW is similar, performance wise, to yours. It seems the latencies are caused by the another driver, not the M-audio, and they get worse when running in balanced power plan. Can't wait to get the updated M-audio drivers though :). Anyway, the same setup is flawless in XP...
